Guaranteed to be made with 100% Scottish milk sourced from our members farms, Scottish Pride Lighter is the only Scottish coloured origin lighter brand in the sector. With its everyday appeal, the cheese is being targeted at the all-important family market.
While the latest product contains 30% less fat than standard Scottish Pride, our cheese makers have refused to compromise on taste and have developed a recipe which meets both exacting requirements.
“There is an increasing shift in consumer attitudes towards healthy eating and it is important that we meet those demands,” explained Richard Hollingdale, sales and marketing director for our cheese business.
“Yet the cheese must have a flavour and taste that consumers enjoy, so we’ve worked hard to ensure we’ve got the right depth of taste,” added Richard.
More than 20,000 cheese toasties were given away by Scottish Pride over the four days - and those consumers who loved the taste also led to us selling more Scottish Pride than ever before at the show.
There was a range of Scottish Pride activities to attract that all-important family market. Morag, our giant inflatable Scottish Pride cow was a real star, along with branded cow facemasks for the children, recipe leaflets and discount vouchers for the adults and even a competition to win a hamper.
Giant mice on motorbikes were seen chasing a giant pack of Scottish Pride Family Cheddar through the City Centres of Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as the surrounding area during the Royal Highland Show.
The Biker Mice were caught on camera and now feature on the video website YouTube.
